Wire Marking Machine Specifications
The SEI-450 will hot stamp wire with insulation of various materials from .040 to .250 in diameter. Larger wire sizes available by special order.
Each type wheel has 26 letters, 10 numbers, left arrow, right arrow, dash and a blank. They can be furnished in both vertical or horizontal reading. They are hardened and hard chrome plated for lasting quality. (Special characters are available at an extra charge).
Operator Interface Panel:
The SEI-450 is operated through an operator interface panel. The operator can set the short spacing, long spacing, number of pieces, dwell time, wire length and start the run.
Foil can be furnished in various colors and will accommodate the standard insulation materials. Foil feed is infinitely adjustable to the desired spacing.
The temperature of the type wheels is automatically controlled by the temp-control, heater and thermocouple. Temperature may be infinitely adjusted from 0°F to 600°F.
Wire Guide fixtures can be furnished for various wire sizes.
Standard type wheels of your choice and quantity are provided with the machine and are normally centered on the mandrel. More wheels may be used (at added cost). A fast operating type selector bar is provided to adjust the wheels to the desired characters visually selected through a magnifier.
The stamping pressure may be adjusted from 0 to 60 PSIG by an air pressure regulator with a pressure gauge. The air pressure controls the diaphragm-type actuator that requires no oil and withstands many actuations without failure.
A program used for setup converts the resume switch to a manual sample stamp switch which can be actuated to test the stamp quality so that the stamp pressure, temperature and dwell time may be adjusted to the optimum setting.
The machine is programmed at the factory to stamp short spacing (1 to 11inches), long spacing (1 to 10,000 inches) and the length of short spacing (36 inches, or another costume requirement to fit your needs) on each end of the wire. It can also be programmed to stamp all short spacing or just measure and cut wire (no stamping).
The machine will automatically stop and an indicator light will go on if; the stamp actuation is not completed (light from ready position goes off), shear actuation is not completed, type wheel bar is not in place or the foil runs out. When the problem has been solved, the machine may be restarted without losing the logic already programmed.
The wire can be measured and cut in lengths in .1 inch increments by entering the desired number on the operator interface panel. The 450 uses a digital encoder (riding the wire) so wire length is extremely accurate.
The number of pieces of wire required may be programmed by entering the desired number on the operator interface panel. The machine will automatically stop pulling wire when the programmed length, stamp spacing or number of pieces.
The machine may be stopped with the emergency stop switch and restarted with the resume switch without affecting the programmed length, stamp spacing or number of pieces.
Dwell time is microprocessor controlled and may be set in .01 second increments.
If the machine detects a stall in the pulling of the wire one-tenth of an inch, the program will immediately shut down preventing compromise of the insulation.
Pause Between Shear
A delay between pieces may be programmed into the machine to allow the operator time to remove the stamped wire from the coil pan before the next piece is run.
The SEI-450 requires 120 volt 60 HZ 10 AMP supply. We can provide for 230 volt 50 HZ at a nominal added cost.
Supply air should be 100 to 120 PSIG with a water filter at the entrance to the machine. NO oiler should be used.
The Model SEI-450 Wire Marking Machine may be programmed to meet the marking requirements of military specification MIL-W-5088J.
Dereeler, table., high torque motor, large shear, and spark tester.
The SEI-450 can be upgraded to an SEI-1000 ink jet machine.
